Veterinarian
What consistently helps me get up and come into work each day and helps restore the smile to my face when things get hard, is the special relationship people and their animals can have together. I love helping our clients build and strengthen the bond they feel between themselves and their pets. When I can restore a pet’s health, and keep it running and playing with its family, then watch the light and joy in the eyes of that pet when it sees or hears its person it brings a warm feeling to my heart and a smile to my face. I love hearing the stories from our clients about the funny, endearing and often crazy things their pets do. Veterinarians call this The Human-Animal Bond, or just The Bond. As a veterinarian, I am eternally grateful that I get to be a guardian of that bond.

Veterinarian
Dr. Carl Bockenstedt never really grew up. He got older in Dyersville Iowa and is currently a resident of Springville. He wants what is best for the animals and for their humans. His goal is to help both live their best lives. He loves to go biking, jogging/running and many other things. He finds great joy in his family. He chose to go into veterinary medicine originally due to growing up on a farm and wanting to help animals. As time has gone on he has realized that he did not just do this for the animals, but for the relationships he has formed with the owners as well.

Brynn was lucky enough to be raised in Orderville, Utah. For those who have no idea where that is, think Zion Park. She is one of the few here that has worked at the front desk and as a technician. Currently she is one of our Technicians though. She would like to expand her skills as a technician and possibly go on to work both large and small animals. When she’s not at work you can find her riding horses, reading, hiking or off roading. She loves working in the veterinary industry. She has always had a lifelong love for all animals. She is living part of her dream of helping all of your four legged friends here at Pet Medical Services….now if only she could convince Dr. B to start doing large animals again…..

Hey there! I’m Matt and I grew up in the lovely state of Oregon. I was born on a small farm to a large family. I spent most of my early days learning as I followed my parents around as they fulfilled their various tasks and responsibilities. I spent the nights cuddling with our dog near the table while the rest of the family talked after late dinners. In school I was and still am a bit of a social drifter, looking for interesting discussions and ideas. I’ve dipped my toes in a few areas of study but found that law was too technical, history too desiccated and psychology too full of strange ideas. At the end of the day nothing beats sitting on the couch with my arm around my wife, watching some The Office and cuddling with my dogs.

Clinic mascot
Ray Charles is the clinic mascot. He came to us when we first opened from a client who found him wandering the streets and running into cars. Due to his medical condition Phthisis bulbi (meaning his eyelids are covering his eyes) he stayed with us. At first he was afraid of everything but now he knows he is safe and loved. He can see shadows and moves around the clinic very well. He is shy and only comes out every once in a while. You must be pretty special if he comes out and says hi.
